The getting started as box tech partner (here) mentions about keeping an integration ‘unpublished’ - I am struggling to find any extra information about what this means exactly. Aside from discoverability, are there any differences between the an unpublished and published integration? Are unpublished integrations just a platform app defined in our tenancies dev console (with purpose set to integration), where we then provide the client id to customers so they can add and enable the platform app in their admin console?Thanks in advanceA

Hello, I am looking to automate backups from our company's Box account to local storage, partly for regulatory reasons, but also so we have time based backups and deletion protection, in addition to what is already provided by Box in terms of redundancy etc. I am looking at NAS models - Synology and QNAP. Synology has cloud sync, but this just keeps a mirror of the cloud storage, not a time based backup. There is Hyper Backup, but seems clunky to combine this with cloud sync. QNAP has Hybrid Backup Sync (HBS) which I am looking into. Does anyone have any experience with this? Looking to roll this out ASAP so appreciate any input. Thanks!

Hello, I recently got a Business Subscription to Box and I am trying to create a custom URL public link for some documents. When I got to the Shared Link Settings on the specific document, I saw the Non-private custom URL option, which is grayed out for me. Can you please help me resolve this issue?

Hi,I’d setup a Box account to get at some shared files from another business user.  Used my work email address and setup a credentialed account, which I appear to be able to login to here in support, but when I try to access the main application, it tries Google auth after I input my email even though I don’t choose google login - my email is no longer associated with a Google account so can’t log in (my work used to use Google but has since switched and removed our Google accounts from our work emails). This was working for some time until today (but hadn’t logged in a while).  I can maybe setup another personal account and see if they can re-share files to it, but thought I’d check here to see if you have any ideas.  Would prefer to continue to use my current work account...

Hi Jey I paid 79 Apple throh the box app for an up grade annual. Did not upgrade. I have images to prove.  see attatchments. There is no support@box.com Can you help? Brianenc 

Hello to all of you. I ran into an issue with files being renamed by someone and can’t find out who did it. The details pane says that last modification was by me and shows the date of my last version of the file upload. The file is listed as being version 1, while in fact it is version 2. No info on who renamed it. I have not received notification via email either. I receive an email on uploads, deletes, and comments. So, the problem for me is two-fold:I don’t receive notification on file rename, there is no such option in my interface.  The file properties/details do not acknowledge that the file was modified by another person and thus the blame for renaming goes to the uploader because he/she is the one listed as being the last person modifying the file regardless that someone else actually modified it after the last upload.The problem can be easily replicated, it is persistent. Is there a resolution on this issue e.g. subscription plan that eliminates confusions like these?

Hi,I´m a free user. There is plenty of storage capacity left according account settings.When trying to upload PDF-files with size lager than 1 MB but smaller than 250MB, upload fails. Depending on file size, upload stucks at some % (the larger the file, the lower is percentage) and does not move forward. This ist new behaviour observed since beginning of 2025.In the past, upload of files between 1 to 15 MB was no problem. What could be the reasons?Appreciate helpful hints.Thank youUlrich

I completed the account establishment process. No additional directions were provided as to next steps nor did a screen appear that indicated I had an account.  In fact I was looking at a blank screen. Later found an email that I had to respond to which timed out before I found it.What do I do now. Clicking the start button from my invitation did not allow me to start from scratch again.Any way someone can walk me through the process.Thank you.

Our colleague tried to reset his password but no e-mail reached him. I checked exchange e-mail record but there have been no e-mail rejected/failed related to his e-mail address. We would like you to check your e-mail record as sender and please advise how we should inform his e-mail address.Your kind cooperation will be appreciated. 

I registered today and am currently on the 7-day Enterprise trial—our top priority is that all data at rest remain within the EU, so we need to enable Box Zones, yet I cannot find any “Data Residency/Zones” option in the Admin Console or in the plan details; could you please confirm whether Box Zones is available during the trial and, if not, which paid plan or add-on is required (with an indicative per-user cost) and the typical activation/migration times for any files already uploaded?

Some users are unable to open a PDF file in the native app because the Open button is grayed out. Other file types open as expected. All users have Foxit PDF and Box add-in installed, Box Edit, Box for office, Box Drive. Users are able to open the document through Box Drive. 

Since this very morning we are unable to open & groupally edit Microsoft Power Point Online Archives. Error message is vague.  Please help.

Any decent File Manager is now having an issue completing the Cloud Box access as it gets stuck on the Grant Access page. There is no way to activate/click the button when you don't have a mouse. This is a new problem. If the user has already gone thru inputting the OS auth code successfully on top of the login creds then WHY do we have to do Grant Access page submit? It's now made using Cloud access Box with any File Manager on Android TV USELESS. It used to work but now a problem.

Hello, complete noob here.  Recently upgraded to Business Enterprise account.  This is probably a simple thing but i cant seem to figure it out.  I downloaded Box Drive to use the sync feature.  The default and apparently only install location is my C: Drive.  My C: drive is only a small ssd drive that i used to store Windows itself.  When using the sync feature, Box is storing those files on the C:drive which has no space left so it fails.  Is there any simple thing that im overlooking or way to change the drive in which these files that im trying to sync are stored. Thanks for your help!

Hello, for a few days when opening my PC, an error message has appeared. I try to make it disappear by following the procedure indicated, the notification disappears but it reappears when I open the PC again.... Thank you for your help. 

Hello, I’m having an issue with a user who has a few files created and it won’t open on Word Online, when opening the file. It will hang for a long time on the loading screen and then state  Sorry. Word can’t open the document because the service is too busy. Please refresh the page to try again.  We’ve also tried sharing the file with myself and I get the same error.
