Restore replaced files

Hello everyone. I am an individual user using the free version. I accidentally overwrote a file and would like to restore it to the version from three days ago, July 22, 2025, using features like Content Recovery. Is it possible to subscribe to a paid plan now and recover the file?

File share that includes upload and download but not edit

I am attempting to share a file with a client that gives them access to upload and download but NOT edit the document. I do not see a way to figure this out.  Can anyone assist with this issue? Thank you,

Getting error using UI editing a file and trying to apply/save metadata.

I have a file where I’m trying to add metadata using a template we have been using in the past.When I try to save the metadata using the UI (when editing the file) I get back the following error:"An error has occurred while updating metadata. Please refresh the page and try again."I’ve tried refreshing the page and repeating the process, but still get the same error.When I happen to look at the Chrome Dev Tool Console window I can see that the Box UI is getting an error response back from an ajax call they posting. The error says:{"message": "Encountered invalid value for template field key=alfrescoCreatedDate with id=eb….","code": "bad_request","request_id": "d…."}This is a hidden field we have had for several years and never ran into any issue trying to save the metadata. It really shouldn’t be trying to do anything with this hidden field.Have any of you run into this? Is there any work around?Support so far has not been helpful.

How to optimize vendor selection with AI

Hi all! I wanted to introduce an AI agent I created that’s been well-received by users so far. It’s built to review quotes or invoices from potential vendors, analyze them, and log the key details (price, item, total cost) in a table format to make it easy to compare across multiple vendors. The real value comes from its ability to recommend vendors based on whatever factors you prioritize — just specify those in your prompt! A few things of note that I wanted to share: I chose to use quotes / financial documents as the content since I was working alongside some procurement teams but this could easily be adjusted for resumes, applications, etc. This agent gets more powerful when you ask follow up questions. Ex: “Which vendor would be best for a more extravagant event?” OR “Who has the greatest capacity?” You control which criteria matter most; if budget is key, direct the agent accordingly. Adding Notes to Hub

I’m trying to add a Box Note to a Hub but Box is telling me I don’t have permission to add it.I have Editor access to the root folder and folder where this note is stored.What might be the reason?

Is There a Limit to Documents We Can Sign Per Month as a Nonprofit?

Hi there, We’re a registered nonprofit using Box Sign. We’ve recently noticed that the option to request signatures or sign documents ourselves is no longer appearing in our account. Is there a monthly limit to how many documents we can send for signature under the nonprofit plan? How to remove a collaborator from all folders at once.

When an employee within my company with whom we shared multiple Box folders at various levels leaves our company, can we just remove him as a collaborator altogether within our account, with one click? Or do we need to search out all folders shared with him and remove him from each individually?

BoxSign "Agree to Disclosures" is time-consuming - please bake this into "Sign & Finish" button click like Adobe

It is quite time-consuming for our team to manually check the “By checking this box you:” checkbox and click the “Accept & Continue” button for every document that requires a Box Signature within our organization. Would it be possible to integrate this agreement into the “Sign & Finish” button? As seen below Adobe Acrobat Sign does not have these additional mouse clicks -- when the user clicks “Submit” you are agreeing to the disclosures.

Hiding User Names in Folders

Is there a way to hide some or all the user names via groups, box shield or otherwise for a single or multiple folders?  I leverage box to collaborate on creative projects between “external” and “internal” users, however I want to keep my “internal” reviewers/users identity private and hidden from my “external” collaborators. Is there a way to hide their names and details or both users names and details who have access to files?

Can I assign an approval task to every user in a Group using Relays? If so, how do I reference a Group on the Relay platform?

I need to automate sending an approval task to several users (10 to 15 individuals) based on some criteria. The individual users will not be consistent, and I would rather not have to update the list of users in every flow manually after every change in employment. Can I add a group name into the Assignee(s) field in the flow? Are there any formatting or structural requirements to properly reference a group in this field?

Smart Quotes in Box Notes?

Is there anyone noticing smart/curly quotes in Box Notes? I don’t like them, and I’ve ensured it’s not being caused by my OS or web browser, but they are now appearing in my Box Notes if I manually type a single or double quote.

Box AI is in my way

How can I either Remove Box AI from my toolbar at the right or at least move it so that it is not defaulted to the top and forcing me to click on comments for every file. I get it, AI is your new fancy gizmo, but it’s utterly useless for me and my team. Box is a storage solution first and foremost, don’t force me to use the AI tool.

Transfer folders

Hi,I am moving to a different company who also uses box. My account of box will be deactivated as I will not longer get access to the email.Is there a way to transfer all the files and folders in my previous company to my account of the new company? Thank you!
