Hi there. I’m looking for a way to download a watermarked file using the API with a viewer user. I saw the platform docs mentioning that when using a Viewer user to download a watermarked file, you need to first open the file for preview and then the download becomes available. How can I do the same thing using the API instead of the UI?

I’m trying to download the files of the publicly shared KUL fall simulation dataset (Box), as I access the server I want to run my AI training on via ssh and of course don’t have a browser there. Also I’d like to avoid copying 20GB of videos via ssh or something. My app successfully authenticates and obtains the folder ID from the shared link using client.get_shared_item(shared_link), it returns “44028703597” as the folder ID. Then I call folder_items = client.folder(folder_id).get_items(), no problems here. Now when I try to iterate over that, I get an error message that the folder with the ID “d_44028703597” can’t be found, which is weird because in the same message I can see that the SDK calls GET https://api.box.com/2.0/folders/44028703597/items?offset=0, without the d_ prefix. Any idea what I’m doing wrong? My app has read permission, I can’t see anything else it might need to read public files.

I have tried to create a signer and and approver order, but it always takes the second email. Referring to the attached code below: When there is a order 1 & order 2, no emails send out When there is a order 2 but no order 1 set, then the approver gets the email. When there is a order 1 but no order 2 set, then the approve When there is no order defined, the approver email sends. I should note, that each email does work when pushed alone. Hi, When I use the metadata-query command and try to add more options to query more data about the file creation date using the Fields option or the Extra-Fields option, no results show up, only file name and file id Here is the command box metadata-query enterprise_******.department 1736501103 --fields=created_at ----- File 1342427526557 ----- Type: file ID: ‘1342427526557’ Also need to know the list of options that I can use under Fields and Extra-Fields as the Box CLI is not showing any help or examples for it. I have a question regarding rate limiting for license-based APIs. developer.box.com Rate Limits - Box Developer Documentation Explore the Box APIs and SDKs to use for app development, API documentation, developer support resources, and access the Box Developer Console I understand that the rate limits for license-based APIs are based on the entire organization’s usage, not on a per-user basis. For example, if there are 6 users on a Business plan, and each user makes 10,000 API calls, the total would exceed the 50,000 rate limit. Is this correct?

I am using the create sign request API with the following body to create a sign request: { "external_id": "10000", "parent_folder": { "id": "0", "type": "folder" }, "signers": [ { "role": "signer", "email": "ben.jessup@oasisdigital.com" }, { "role": "approver", "email": "benjamin.jessup@valiantys.com" } ], "source_files": [ { "id": "1056087946155", "type": "file" } ] } After signing and approving the request it goes into a “finalizing” state (shown as “In Progress” in the UI), then eventually goes into a “error_finalizing” status. Initially I encountered this in a Atlassian Connect Express application, but I saw the same behavior after using Postman to create the sign request. Any thoughts on what could be causing this error? Is there any way to see more detail on the error?

Hello, I am using Box CLI Box folders:download in GitHub Actions, and I want to download it to a specific path. Hello! I created app as “OAuth 2.0 with Client Credentials Grant (Server Authentication)” and used below python code to get the access token and get a folder info. I am creating a Custom Portal ( Box Application ) using OAuth for authentication (NextAuth). The Box environment is configured with SSO via Azure. I’m seeking clarification if this is possible. I recall skimming through the developer site that this isn’t. I’m not able to find that reference.

Is there a flow bulk pattern for creating Box Folders with default batch size of 200. When I insert 200 custom object records, I want 200 box folders created. Reducing batch size works, but not ideal. In the debug logs I see multiple SOQL queries executed by the Box managed package for a single Folder create which ends up tripping the salesforce limits - An Apex error occurred: System.LimitException: box:Too many SOQL queries: 101

Is there API endpoint to count the number of files under a folder? We can get the counts by iteratively getting the counts under subfolder. This is resource intensive and does not seem to be a good way to get the counts especially because there is a request rate limit imposed.

I created the access_token through Enterprise ID. The authentication method used was Client Credentials Grant. I obtained the access_token. I called the ‘List items in folder’ API using this access_token. I entered 0 for ‘folder_id’. However, as a result, no error message appeared and ‘total_count’ was output as 0. Clearly this folder exists. So I made the same call to the ‘List items in folder’ API using the ‘Developer Token’. The folder was output normally. Why can’t I get a list of folders when I create an access_token with ‘enterprise ID’? reference. If I create an access_token using OAuth 2.0, I can get the list of folders normally. Thanks.

Hello, I’m just getting started with Box CLI and need a way to batch remove hundreds of external users that have tens of thousands of collaborations within an enterprise. We can remove one at a time from the legacy admin dashboard, but I’d like to do this in batch via Box CLI, as advised by Box Support. I can’t find any documentation on external users specifically, only on the individual collaborations of managed users. Thoughts? -Vlad Weinstein

Introducing: Template APIs for Box Sign! Finally we can use the ‘/sign_request’ end point to create a signature request. Let’s start with the ‘template_id’: This functionality is currently broken. If a template_id is added to a sign_request, the request fails with a 404. Without the template_id, the sign request works as expected. The same 404 behavior is seen with the sign_templates/:template_id request to get a specific template by ID.

I have created application with Client Credentials Grant and when i am trying to use it with box_subject_type=user. i am getting “Grant credentials are invalid” error. I have checked client ID and client secret and user ID. Also I have checked App Access Only as i am trying with user subject type Note: I am using newly created free account without any subscription or trial

I’m trying to authenticate with OAuth 2.0 and I keep getting 401 unauthorized errors. I know for sure that I’m using my correct Client ID and Client Secret, so I’m not sure what’s going wrong.
