When videos are posted for review, the player controls cover the video. This makes it difficult to accurately review the video because the content is covered by the controls, for at least the first couple seconds. Which means if you have an opening they want to watch, they can’t. If they need to proof read graphics/subtitles, they can’t. It really defeats the entire purpose of online file sharing.

Why is Box covering my product with the player controls? Can’t they move them off the top of my videos?

I see no option to do that. Is there a setting available?

Thanks for any help.

Hi @Jblo

Welcome to Box Community, and we’ll gladly answer your queries regarding content preview.

Box’s video preview player places controls overlayed at the bottom of the video. The subtitles/closed captions also appear as an overlay at the bottom and cannot be repositioned or styled differently currently. Currently, there is not an option or setting to move the player controls off the bottom or to the top of the video. This design appears fixed, with no user-configurable control placement available.

Therefore, Box does cover part of the video content with player controls by default, and there is no current setting to move these controls elsewhere such as the top of the video.

The feature/option you’re looking for is a current limitation and we welcome any feedback/feature request that you can send via pulse.box.com

Thanks for posting!
