As per Box documentation, the clearCache function of Content Explorer should force reload the items. But when I call the same function, I don’t see any reload of items in Content Explorer widget. I have a folder ID and I have a leaf name. What I want is the full file details. At the moment I list the folder and look for the leaf name. This works but for large folders is very slow and requires lots of API calls. Is there an API which takes as input a folder ID and a leaf name and returns a file info just for that file? The best I’ve seen is get-search but that has several problems - it does a recursive search when given folder IDs which I don’t want, and I want an exact match for the file name, not a fuzzy one (its still fuzzy if you use “double quotes”). Any ideas? BTW this is for rclone!

Hi, when creating group with this Box API: developer.box.com Create group - API Reference - Box Developer Documentation Explore the Box APIs and SDKs to use for app development, API documentation, developer support resources, and access the Box Developer Console There are 3 options to choose from for member_viewability_level: admins_only - the enterprise admin, co-admins, group’s group admin admins_and_members - all admins and group members all_managed_users - all managed users in the enterprise Also in admin UI there is Permission Setting on group page with also 3 options, but they don’t match. When creating group with API, this is how chosen options are reflected in UI: admins_only → Admins only admins_and_members → Admins only all_managed_users → Company But I can’t figure out they way to set Permission Setting to “Group members” no matter what options I pass through API, how can I do this?

Hi, I am completely new to Box so please let me know if I am in the wrong place. I would like to be able to run a Curl command to pull a list of files modified in the last hour from my All Files view and it should look down through child folders. I found this: https://developer.box.com/reference/get-folders-id-items/ which is nearly there but it needs a Token. And when I look for how to create a token I see https://developer.box.com/guides/authentication/tokens/access-tokens/ but the example there dont show the -d values. I suspect I am on the wrong trail. Can What is the easiest way to create a token that I can use? Thanks

Hello, this is Yane. My boss instructed me to use the BOX API to create a folder under a specific employee’s folder, and to create an application to check the contents of the folder. Is there any setting required to check the contents of a specific employee’s folder instead of the contents of the service account? Or should I just code in the API? Can you tell me please. Hi, I am attempting to integrate an application in box with IBM App connect designer. In app connect, I need to provide the following authentication data: Access token Refresh token Client ID Client Secret I have already found the client ID and client secret, however the only token I was able to find was called a developer token. Can anyone help me understand how I could aqcuire the access and refresh tokens for my application? kind regards

I have been testing Create Box Sign Request API using my free Developer Account, and it has been working fine until July 3rd, 2023. developer.box.com Create sign request - API Reference - Box Developer Documentation Explore the Box APIs and SDKs to use for app development, API documentation, developer support resources, and access the Box Developer Console However, when I tried the same request today (July 31st, 2023), the API request itself succeeded but the created Sign Request resulted in Error On Convert status. When I created Sign Request via WebUI, the created Sign Request successfully proceeded to In Progress status. Has there been any changes in the Box Sign API, or on its usage restriction for free Developer Accounts?

[First post – please bear with me.] Box recently sent me a notice about deprecating some SSL protocols. Legacy SSL Ciphers Deprecation The suggestion is to use “api-test(.)box(.)com” instead of the normal “api(.)box(.)com” to test whether you need to make security changes to your app. The problem I’m facing is I use the BOX SDK v.2 (with C#) which has “api(.)box(.)com” hardcoded in the library so I can’t change it to use the testing URL. Is there a way to find files which are tagged with custom metadata (not template version) using the Box UI?

Does Content Explorer include any mechanisms to stop the uploading of files that are infected with viruses? Is there any indication of an error in Content Explorer when attempting to preview a file that contains a virus? Is it possible for Content Explorer to hide/remove the download choice for a file containing a virus, despite the download permission granted by the downscoped token used in Content Explorer?

Hi there, Sorry for the very basic question, but I was wondering if somebody could guide me on how to generate a “Bearer Access Token” for usage with Box’s API? I’m trying to authorize the Preflight check before upload API call which requires a Bearer Access Token, but I can’t figure out where I can generate this token. Hi There I am creating a wordpress site, where my students will be able to upload files on individual topics. File request features allows me, where I can create individual links / folder for specific topics Now the issue is that, they have to add their name, email addresses (i know you can remove it) again. Hello, I am working on a Python integration that requests Box API. My goal is as follows: to set up an automation that invites one or more individuals to collaborate on a file/folder. Once the invitation is accepted, an approval task is created on the file (or on each file within a folder) and assigned to the same person. However, how can I invite a user who does not have a Box account? The request to create a collaboration requires an object of type ‘User (Collaborations)’. I saw there is an API to remove a collaborator in general from the account, and i saw i can remove shared link like public or domain links, but I just want to remove specific user I shared with him the file from the specific file I shared with him. I am a ServiceNow Developer looking to build a Box Integration. Currently, I have ServiceNow configured to make API calls utilizing OAuth with JWT (Server Authentication). The steps I followed to accomplish that can be found here. This does work. For testing and development purposes I would like to configure Postman to emulate exactly what I have configured in the provided link. By that I mean I was to use the same client id, secret id, and point to the same custom app that was created in those steps. I feel like I want to use the developer token generated from the custom app to accomplish this, similar to what Alex responded within this post, however, I don’t see how to point to my custom app. Admittedly, when searching for documentation on how to accomplish this I probably don’t know enough about this process to find the correct steps. Any guidance on how to accomplish this would be appreciated. Thank you

I’m trying to specify a Dropdown item of a template ( in prefill_tags ) in a signing request. I tried using text_value but it didn’t seem to work. Do I have to specify the Dropdown item index somehow instead? I hope this is possible, as it seems this would be barebones functionality. Thanks.
