The getting started as box tech partner (here) mentions about keeping an integration ‘unpublished’ - I am struggling to find any extra information about what this means exactly.

  • Aside from discoverability, are there any differences between the an unpublished and published integration?
  • Are unpublished integrations just a platform app defined in our tenancies dev console (with purpose set to integration), where we then provide the client id to customers so they can add and enable the platform app in their admin console?

Thanks in advance

👋 Hi @aw-an, welcome to the Box Community!

Unpublished integrations/applications are simply apps that are not listed in the Box App Gallery. These leverage out API to integrate with Box, yet aren’t published in app gallery.

For unpublished applications, the individual user needs to add the integration. You can share the link from the details page of the app in your ‘My apps’ page. Send this link to the other users of the integration and they should see an ‘Add’ button when they open.

Here’s a related topic for reference:

Furthermore, when you have done your testing and are satisfied with the integration, you can publish it to Box Integrations which allows customers to discover your integration and add it to their Box accounts.
