In the document example response it has the metadata developer.box.com Search for content - API Reference - Box Developer Documentation Explore the Box APIs and SDKs to use for app development, API documentation, developer support resources, and access the Box Developer Console but when i search it did not return.

Get response to variable in Powershell using @boxcli

Goal: Iterate through folder and get list of files. Upload files to box folder, and if successful, remove the file. Service running as a scheduled task in Windows Server 2022 to run Powershell script nightly. I cannot get a response from box files:upload when its successful. Any Suggestions?

Download watermarked file

Hi there. I’m looking for a way to download a watermarked file using the API with a viewer user. I saw the platform docs mentioning that when using a Viewer user to download a watermarked file, you need to first open the file for preview and then the download becomes available. How can I do the same thing using the API instead of the UI?

Successfully get folder ID of public shared folder, but can't get items, ID in message has d_ prefix

I’m trying to download the files of the publicly shared KUL fall simulation dataset (Box), as I access the server I want to run my AI training on via ssh and of course don’t have a browser there. Also I’d like to avoid copying 20GB of videos via ssh or something. My app successfully authenticates and obtains the folder ID from the shared link using client.get_shared_item(shared_link), it returns “44028703597” as the folder ID. Then I call folder_items = client.folder(folder_id).get_items(), no problems here. Now when I try to iterate over that, I get an error message that the folder with the ID “d_44028703597” can’t be found, which is weird because in the same message I can see that the SDK calls GET https://api.box.com/2.0/folders/44028703597/items?offset=0, without the d_ prefix. Any idea what I’m doing wrong? My app has read permission, I can’t see anything else it might need to read public files.

Most performant way to call API endpoints

Hello everyone, I’m facing an issue with the speed of the responses I’m receiving from the API. I’m making 100 parallel calls from one user and repeating this process 10 times, resulting in less than 1000 calls per minute. Here’s the code snippet that I’m using: _boxClientCredentialsGrant = new BoxCCGAuth(boxConfig); _userclient = _boxClientCredentialsGrant.UserClient(_testUserId); // This part in paralel 100 times // iterate 10 times var result = await _userclient.UsersManager.GetCurrentUserInformationAsync(); The blue line is the performance in average pro call in this scenario I’m wondering if there are additional optimizations that I can implement to receive faster responses to these API calls and process them more quickly. Has anyone had experience with performance optimization? I’m questioning whether the current performance is acceptable or if there are further optimizations I can make on my end. 400 error on Applying Metadata to Folder

Hello, I am experiencing an issue with the NodeSDK, whenever I apply any data shape, to boxClient.folders.addMetadata() it throws a 400 with “message”: “Request contains invalid parameters.”, If I apply a empty object {}, it works without issue. (So I know that i am able to connect, and have permissions ect) The shape of the metadata template is: The relevant code: const metadataValues = { ENTITY_ID: “1234”, is_Active: “1”, is_Found: “1”, }; let response_metadata_applied = await this.boxClient.folders.addMetadata(folder_id, “enterprise_534608”, “ciptemplate”, metadataValues); It throws a 400, with that error. If I apply let response_metadata_applied = await this.boxClient.folders.addMetadata(folder_id, “enterprise_534608”, “ciptemplate”, {}); It works 100%, but the values are of course empty. Box Sign "Multiple signers and signing order" Approver and Order Issues

I have tried to create a signer and and approver order, but it always takes the second email. Referring to the attached code below: When there is a order 1 & order 2, no emails send out When there is a order 2 but no order 1 set, then the approver gets the email. When there is a order 1 but no order 2 set, then the approve When there is no order defined, the approver email sends. I should note, that each email does work when pushed alone. Box CLI Commands Options (Fields and Extra Fields)

Hi, When I use the metadata-query command and try to add more options to query more data about the file creation date using the Fields option or the Extra-Fields option, no results show up, only file name and file id Here is the command box metadata-query enterprise_******.department 1736501103 --fields=created_at ----- File 1342427526557 ----- Type: file ID: ‘1342427526557’ Also need to know the list of options that I can use under Fields and Extra-Fields as the Box CLI is not showing any help or examples for it. For example, if there are 6 users on a Business plan, and each user makes 10,000 API calls, the total would exceed the 50,000 rate limit. Is this correct?

Error completing Box sign request when created using API

I am using the create sign request API with the following body to create a sign request: { "external_id": "10000", "parent_folder": { "id": "0", "type": "folder" }, "signers": [ { "role": "signer", "email": "ben.jessup@oasisdigital.com" }, { "role": "approver", "email": "benjamin.jessup@valiantys.com" } ], "source_files": [ { "id": "1056087946155", "type": "file" } ] } After signing and approving the request it goes into a “finalizing” state (shown as “In Progress” in the UI), then eventually goes into a “error_finalizing” status. Initially I encountered this in a Atlassian Connect Express application, but I saw the same behavior after using Postman to create the sign request. Any thoughts on what could be causing this error? Is there any way to see more detail on the error?

Hello, I am using Box CLI Box folders:download in GitHub Actions, and I want to download it to a specific path. When I trigger action, it downloads it to C:\Users\Administrator\Downloads\Box-Downloads I can’t believe this is not already thought off - maybe I am missing something but I couldn’t find the flag for this in https://github.com/box/boxcli/blob/main/docs/folders.md#box-foldersdownload-id thank you ~Laith How to achieve this?

Not able to get folder info using access token

Hello! I created app as “OAuth 2.0 with Client Credentials Grant (Server Authentication)” and used below python code to get the access token and get a folder info. I am creating a Custom Portal ( Box Application ) using OAuth for authentication (NextAuth). The Box environment is configured with SSO via Azure. I’m seeking clarification if this is possible. I recall skimming through the developer site that this isn’t. I’m not able to find that reference.

Open app integration via box returns 403

Hi, I’m trying to figure out why our app integration no longer opens successfully, it shows “403 forbidden” when opening the app via Box (in a new tab). From our logs it looks like it stopped working August 22th (the oath endpoint haven’t been called since then). Have something changed in how Box calls the authentication endpoint? Its this network call https://app.box.com/index.php?rm=box_openbox_post_form&url=[...] that returns a 403. See screenshot: When i call the url specified in the query parameter above manually with a POST it returns a redirect which can open the app successfully so I suspect something might have changed on Box end. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Bulkification of Flow Actions e.g. Create Folder For Record ID (createFolderForRecordId)

Is there a flow bulk pattern for creating Box Folders with default batch size of 200. When I insert 200 custom object records, I want 200 box folders created. Reducing batch size works, but not ideal. In the debug logs I see multiple SOQL queries executed by the Box managed package for a single Folder create which ends up tripping the salesforce limits - An Apex error occurred: System.LimitException: box:Too many SOQL queries: 101

Total number of files under a folder?

Is there API endpoint to count the number of files under a folder? We can get the counts by iteratively getting the counts under subfolder. This is resource intensive and does not seem to be a good way to get the counts especially because there is a request rate limit imposed.

Client Credentials Grant User ID Access_token failed

I would like to obtain Access_Token through ‘Client Credentials Grant’. I created a New App through the My Apps menu. Administrator approval was obtained through the Authorization tab. When I request authentication as follows, an error message appears. https://api.box.com/oauth2/token grant_type: client_credentials client_id: xd~~ client_secret: Tm~~ box_subject_type: user box_subject_id: 28~~ response) { “error”: “invalid_grant”, “error_description”: “Grant credentials are invalid” } I requested the API through ‘Postman’. Use List items in folder using access_token through Enterprise ID

I created the access_token through Enterprise ID. The authentication method used was Client Credentials Grant. I obtained the access_token. I called the ‘List items in folder’ API using this access_token. I entered 0 for ‘folder_id’. However, as a result, no error message appeared and ‘total_count’ was output as 0. Clearly this folder exists. So I made the same call to the ‘List items in folder’ API using the ‘Developer Token’. The folder was output normally. Why can’t I get a list of folders when I create an access_token with ‘enterprise ID’? reference. If I create an access_token using OAuth 2.0, I can get the list of folders normally. Thanks.
