Recover old Box account which uses a no longer accessible email address

Hi everybody,

I have seen this query several times, but I can’t see a useable public reply? I set up an account which I didn’t use for a while, and in the meantime, changed my email provider and email address. I no longer have access to the old email address but have all the details of how to access it, and I would like to access the files on the old account. How can I do that?

If you can’t access the email address associated with your Box account, we recommend either reaching out to your email service provider (ESP) to regain access to your email account or creating a new account. For additional guidance please review our support guide on Logging in to Box.

Box does not have the ability to help you regain access to your email account. You will need access to the email address associated with your account to change your account password. We appreciate your cooperation in helping to protect your account against unauthorized access.

        Hello,

        Back in 2020 I registered Box account on email <removed personal information>, unfortunately now that mail server is no longer available, I don’t have access to my email and can’t restore password. Please help to change email of my old account so that I can access it.

          Hello,

          Back in 2020 I registered box.com account with email [removed by moderator] , I try to login now but have a message “password expired”. Unfortunately now this email server doesn’t work anymore, so I don’t have access to email and can’t change/restore password. Please help to transfer account to another email.

          I understand that your Box account has been around in awhile, and you wanted to regain access. Right now, we can only recommend resetting your password to restore your Box access and it can only be sent to your email address linked to your Box account. 

           

          If your email account is invalid, you must reach out to your email service provider (ESP) to regain access to your email account.
