I've tried creating an alias, but it doesn't work for Box. How can I create a desktop shortcut on Mac Ventura to a specific folder from the desktop app for Box?

Hi Loann,

Welcome to Box Community and glad to help!

We're routing this inquiry to our Product Support team through email. I opened a new ticket and we will be in touch.

Thanks for posting!

Was this resolved? if so may I ask the process please

9724064183827 - unfortunately it seems this is no longer an option. I have current shortcuts on my MAC (Ventura) that opens particular folders in the Box desktop app. I don't know when/how it changed. I wish it would be restored.
Or maybe at that time (a MAC newbie) I discovered a secret that I have since forgotten.
I SLEUTHED AND FOUND THIS - AND IT WORKS FOR THE BOX DESKTOP APP.

"Make Alias" tries to create the alias alongside the original item, which in this case is on a readonly volume. You need to create the alias so it's stored on another volume, and the easiest way to do this is by holding Command and Option as you drag the folder to where you want the alias to be -- that'll make the Finder create an alias instead of copying the folder.

I had the same problem, but the hack suggested worked! Thanks for your help, Loann!

Glad it worked for you 407339587!
