Thanks to Chris and @protella and Chris Belle of ITS for today’s fireside chat. You can find the recording and highlights below  Main Topics & Key InsightsBox's Vision for Insurance@protella established that the insurance industry 'runs on documents,' with manual handling creating major bottlenecks. He highlighted key statistics: 80% of underwriting decisions rely on third-party documents, and 60-70% of claim cycle time is spent on manual document review. This not only increases costs but also negatively impacts customer satisfaction.Perry contrasted the outdated model of 'documents in motion' (simply moving files faster) with the modern paradigm of 'intelligence in action.' With Box AI, as soon as documents like loss runs, police reports, or medical records are ingested, they become actionable.  Chris Belle: The Role of the Systems Integrator (ITS)Chris Belle introduced ITS as a systems integrator focused exclusively on the insurance industry. He argued that true transformation

We have some exciting news to share! Destination Folder is coming to Box AI on mobile. 📁📱 When you use Box Agent, Box creates files along the way. Destination Folder is how you choose exactly which folder those files are kept in. That folder is where the conversation lives.Until you choose, everything stays in This session. Open the menu at the top of the conversation and you will see it there. Tap it to open the files from that conversation.  When you want them somewhere specific, tap Select folder, pick the folder, and confirm. Files created in that conversation from then on are stored in the folder you chose. The menu shows that folder’s name, so you always know where this conversation is kept. You can open it, pick a different folder, or go back to This session.Where would you keep your next Box AI conversation? Tell us in the comments.

Thanks to @daria @kadams Box and Pegi for today’s overview and demo of Box and ServiceNow updates. You can find the recording and highlights below. Agenda•Introductions•Box for ServiceNow integration•Demo•Box Agent for NowAssist•Q&A Full recording here, highlights below:- Main Topics1. The Strategic Importance of Integration: Pegi Karger opened by explaining the core challenge the integration solves: ServiceNow manages critical business processes (like incidents, cases, and requests), but the supporting content often resides in Box. This historically led to manual, cumbersome workflows. The Box for ServiceNow integration addresses this by embedding a Box content panel directly within ServiceNow records. This allows teams to access, upload, and manage files in context, without creating duplicate copies, while ensuring all of Box's permissions, governance, classifications, and retention policies are automatically applied. 2. The Box & ServiceNow Ecosystem: Pegi provided an over

Thanis @Scott Picanco Box and Piotr Truch for today’s overview of Box Metadata, also thanks to our guests who joined and shared in the Q&A. You can find the recording and summary below. Agenda:The unstructured data problem • Why metadata matters • What’s new • Looking ahead • Q&A  Main TopicsThe AI-First Era and the Importance of Metadata@Scott Picanco Box described the current business landscape as an "AI-first era." He explained that as AI agents become integral to the workforce, the massive amount of unstructured data generated by businesses becomes a major challenge. Metadata is presented as the crucial "missing link" that makes this content AI-ready. It provides the essential context that bridges human-readable content and business process automation, allowing AI to understand and act on information. Key benefits include: better decision-making through higher quality data, the ability to power smarter agentic workflows (e.g., in Box Automate), and significantly accelerat

Hey Box Community! 👋 What an incredible conversation we had at our **Box Notes: Product Highlights and Customer Feedback** roundtable on September 22nd.  We heard a lot of great questions during the session, and we want to make sure everyone, whether you attended live or are catching up now, has access to the answers. So we've put together this post to walk through the top questions we received, share what we know today, and give you a peek at what's coming. Let's dive in! 🚀 --- 🔑 Q1: What are the real benefits of Box Notes over just uploading a Word doc? This was one of our most popular pre-submitted questions, and it's a great one. Here's the honest answer: **Box Notes isn't trying to replace Word**  it's a different tool for a different job. Here's what makes it uniquely powerful:  **It's native to Box.** A Box Note lives *inside* Box  it's not a proxy or a file that gets downloaded, edited, and re-uploaded. It's always in sync, always in the right place.**Permissions are automa

Customers can now apply a Custom Extract Agent to a parent folder and automatically extract content across its nested subfolders, including existing files and new content as it’s added. We released a set of improvements to how Box Extract manages folder-level extraction, bringing greater flexibility, reliability, and control to Custom Extract Agents. These changes lay the groundwork for more scalable and conflict-free metadata extraction across your content in Box.Users can now apply Custom Extract Agents created in Box Extract to folders and subfolders to automatically extract structured data from both parent and subfolders at the same time, and apply that data as metadata in Box. Previously, Custom Extract Agents created in Box Extract can only be applied to parent folders to automate data extraction at scale. With this new feature, customers will be able to leverage Custom Extract Agents to automatically add metadata to existing files or new files added to a folder and its subfolders

The new Custom Extract Agent builder in Box Extract enables users to upload sample documents and build, configure, and test Custom Extract Agents for higher-quality extraction and accelerate time to value. We updated the Custom Extract Agent builder experience for end users within Box Extract, introducing the same agent building experience that was introduced as part of the AI-Generated Metadata Templates but without the ability to create a metadata template, providing a cleaner, more intuitive workflow for creating and testing Custom Extract Agents.End users can select from pre-created metadata templates and choose which fields their Custom Extract Agents should extract data toWhen selecting "Custom Extract Agent" from the "New" button, end users are displayed with the new Custom Extract Agent builder experience, which provides them with a split view that allows them to select an existing metadata template and configure AI instruction and prompts for more accurate extraction results.
