I recently switched from Box Sync to Box Drive and find the way it handles trash frustrating. With Box Sync, deleted files went to the local Mac trash, allowing easy recovery. But with Box Drive, deletions are permanent and don’t appear in the Mac trash. I’m worried about accidentally losing files. Is there a way to restore Box Sync’s trash behavior with Box Drive?

Hi @arko90 👋 Welcome to the Box Community! I certainly understand your frustration regarding Box Drive functionality.

Box Drive is designed to let you access all your Box files directly from your desktop without taking up much hard drive space, and you can even work offline—your changes will sync automatically when you're back online.

Currently, items deleted in Box Drive can only be found in the Box cloud's trash folder. There is no option to restore them from the recycle bin on your Mac or desktop. We apologize for any limitations. We will consider this as feedback, and we highly recommend sharing it as a feature request in Box Pulse. You can either submit new feedback or upvote this related request: Map Trash on Box.com to Box Drive App. Our Product Team continues to evaluate our customers' needs, and this functionality may be considered in the future.
