Question

Large file size exceptions

I had backed up some large files on  my Box Drive a while back. But now these files are not backed up. The reason mentioned is that these are “file size larger than the maximum size limit for this account type…….”

My simple question is, since I was able to upload this file size earlier (that this large is already there in my Box drive is proof enough) and now I am not able to,  if my account has been downgraded or you unilaterally put this new limit on my account just to extract money from users like me?

Can someone with proper knowledge and authority comment on this?

Hi @vghai15 👋 Welcome to Box Community! Sorry to learn you encountered an issue with Box Drive.

Upon checking, there are no changes made in your account type and no ticket was submitted in the past to request for a change (i.e. downgrade). Regarding your file size limit, you can check it by logging in to your Box, then navigate to your Profile > Account Settings > Scroll down to the Account Details to view.

Please also check this article to learn more about file size limit: Understand the Maximum File Size You Can Upload to Box.

Regarding the error as indicated in Miscellaneous Box Drive Error Notifications, this would fall under Action Failed: File Size Exceeded. If you are collaborating on the content, kindly review with the file owner as the upload limit varies depending on the file owner’s account type.

Hope to have this sorted out. Have a great day! 🤗
