Since I am switching to a new email, my old email was activated and I have shared folders to a third backup email, expecting that even after my old email has been inactivated, I could still access the files via my third backup email logged in to Box.
But the shared folder and all the files are gone right after the old email has been inactivated when I logged into Box with my third backup email.
Is there any way I could restore this shared folder even though the old email that created the shared folder has been inactivated?
P.s.: I am submitting this post via my third backup email that logs into Box.
Hi Abram,
Welcome to Box Community and glad to help!
When an email account was deactivated/deleted. His/her own folders won't necessarily be deleted. And if the Box account itself has been deleted/deactivated. When that happens, the contents belonging to this user will no longer be accessible.
I hope this clarifies your query.
Thanks for the help!
I have recently just found out that Box has a transfer ownership feature that lets Box transfer the ownership of all data belonging to one email (assumed deactivated) to another email (assumed a new email) through this link https://box.dal1a.cirrus.ibm.com/
This feature would require manager's approval and once you have the approval, Box will transfer all the files belonging to your old email to your new email within 24 hours.
Helps so much especially for those who needs data migration from old to new email.
Cheers!
