Question

How to use Relay to reverse the flow of a document

In most of the Box Relay demos, I’ve seen the happy path where a file is moved forward along as everyone agrees with the document. Is there a way to Reject a document and notify the originator and send the document back to an existing folder? I don’t immediately see a way to do this. Is there a standard template that addresses this?

Hi @DanMei 👋 Welcome to the Box Community! In case of a rejection, you can:

  • re-direct the workflow to a previous task outcome step (e.g. Go to outcome 1);
  • assign a general task to another individual before redirecting to a previous task outcome step; or
  • end the workflow

Please check out Task events and Routing your Workflow when a Task is Rejected to learn more. You can use notification outcomes to apprise originator or stakeholders of key developments in workflow progress -- for example, when a process has ended or a file has been rejected.
