How do I turn it off. I bring up a document to reuse for something else. I edit it and it automatically saves over the original document before I do “save as” for another location

To reuse a document without changing the original, first make a copy in Box (… > Make a Copy) and open that copy from Box.
If you’ve opened the file in Microsoft Office or another app outside Box, turn off that app’s AutoSave option before editing, if it’s available.
Box co-authoring may also be enabled for Microsoft Office files; your Box admin can disable it in the Admin Console. This affects co-authoring, but AutoSave settings can vary by app and how the file was opened.
For the safest workflow, make a copy in Box before editing.
