I'm new to developing on the Box platform so apologies if my question comes across as silly, but after about a frustrating week of trying to get going with some python script, it looks like I've been going about this all wrong. I've tried both standard Oauth 2 and Oauth 2 with JWT and can successfully get tokens in both cases, but can't do much of anything beyond that. Long story short, I'm really just trying to creat an app that can read files and folders on our Box platform and download information on them, and who they are shared with (file ACL's). In the case of using JWT server-to-server authentication, I generate my access tokens, create an app user and get the access token of my app user, but I kept getting a 403 error when trying to access a known folder on box. Reading through the documentation as I have been this whole time, I missed this: "An App User access token can only access content from its own account" from https://developer.box.com/docs/service-account.I must have
I am the Co-owner of a folder in Box. When I try to send out Box invitations to share this folder to external collaborators, I always get a message in a red banner that reads "invitations could not be sent to the following people because you are not permitted to invite external collaborators". I have tried all the troubleshooting available on this site and I still get this message. Does anyone else have this issue? Please help! Thanks in advance!
How Do I Change The Owner Of A Folder?
Hello, this is my first post here. I have been trying to find ways of limiting the amount of storage space used on my system drive and cam across "RaiDrive", which is an app that allows me to map online storage providers such as Box, Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive as "network drives" as though it was a disk physically attached to my network here at home and am able to access it as it were such a drive. I have been encountering issues since I migrated my systems over to Windows 10. To be more specific here: I have been having issues where I can login to Box using RaiDrive as normal and it connects and I am able to see the files and folders on it, however, it is read only for RaiDrive access and I am not sure why, all the other providers I havementioned allow full access as though I were accessing a disk on my network. When I restart the PC, I get the following error: Does anyone know what if anything is causing this? What is also more puzzling is that when I relogin, the drive is rea

Hello, We are using shared links as public access. These shared links can able to view in both windows and android (mobile) devices without login/signup. When viewed in IOS though, it’s requiring users to log-in as below screenshot. Is there a way to view in IOS without any login/singup? Much appreciate if someone help me to answer my question. Thanks you.
Usually, when we are using a VDR, we can download an excel file of "Index", which helps us with our process. Do you have this feature?
I'm in the process of moving a large archive from my company's previous cloud storage service to the company's Box, and I'm noticing entire folders of content being skipped. Note that I'm using the browser interface (Chrome), while integration with Windows is being rolled out to us. The folder will show up in the Upload queue but not any of the files it contains (and thus no progress percentage). The progress line immediately goes to the end, upon initiating the upload, but the folder is still not appearing in the Box. I've been working on this the last several days, but hadn't noticed this issue previously. But I also wasn't checking individual folders and subfolders. The file counts just seemed appropriate. Note that I can manually create a folder and upload (drag & drop) the contents. But the self-contained folder (or its contents) won't upload if I'm dragging/dropping the folder. Why are some folders uploading but not others?
Hello everybody, I have to add myself to the plethora of people struggling with this problem for months now: my storage limit is 10 GB and I'm only using a small proportion of it. Box keeps telling me via the "counter" on the lower left side of the home-screen, I'm using 9,7 GB. Everytime I want to upload something, it says I need to upgrade my account to a programme with costs. I'll maybe consider this, but not before this problem with my free account is solved (it should be a matter of a click in the right box/resetting the counter - I've read in another help-thread that there's a code for that, so PLEASE run this on my account). Many thanks, Bernhard
i cannot reactivate an account "Email address redacted". This account was deactivated but need to reactivate with a change of account plan from business to individual.
Hello, I'm working on the design of an application and wish to use Box for content management. This application will have multiple organizations as users and then each organization will have its own users. I would like for each organization to be associated with its own Box enterprise so that each individual organization's content will be segregated from that of other organizations within Box. Is this possible with the Box APIs? If so how would I go about setting up and using such an architecture as my developer account seems to be associated with only one enterprise?
HelloIn my Box account I have a lot of pictures and mostly I prefer to use the thumbnails view on my file explorer. But even if Box lists all my files and I can open them no thumbnail is created when I enable this view. The issue occurs with Windows file explorer as well as thirty part apps, like FreeCommander or Directory Opus and for all folders. All files are marked with a small cloud icon and this makes me think if they are not really downloaded but only "cached". I have another computer with the same Box account configured and on this 2nd machine everything works normally: files are not marked with the cloud icon and thumbnails are regularly created. Any idea about what's wrong?
I invited the end user to a folder, but he cannot sign up.When he tried to sign up, he received a 'Verify Email' message, but opening the link showed an error. How can he register?
I'm trying to create a Box Sign template for an image release form I use frequently. The form has several fields requiring input from the recipients, but the field don't save in my template, i.e., when I open the template in Box Sign to send it to a recipient, there are no fields and I have to drag and drop them all over again.
a question, I just installed Box Drive on a PC, so that my files are synchronized with the cloud, but when synchronizing, I see that it is using up space on my hard drive, for example, I had 267 GB free on my hard drive and Now it is going down, and it will continue to go down because I keep syncing files, is that possible? or how can I change the configuration so that it is only online and does not consume space on my physical hard drive.
Several times now, I’ve tried to access an External User’s account info (date created, collaborations, etc.) from the Admin Console → Users and Groups → External Users list.Despite the user showing up as a collaborator on several folders in our Box instance, they don’t appear on the External Users list. I’ve invited them; they show up as collaborators in the folders which were shared with them.Is there a rhyme or reason to it? A way to make them populate/refresh?These are NOT new accounts; they’ve been collaborators for some time.It gives me pause as I worry I may have external users I do not know about, unless I do a folder-by-folder audit of users.
I downloaded Box Drive on my Mac and every time I try to log in, it takes me to the web page which then takes me back to the drive again to try and log in. I can access my account on the web page but can't seem to get the drive to work on my Mac. I already tried to uninstall then install the drive again and it didn't help.
i need to talk to someone because every step i took on the community did not work
The principal of the company where I work, asked me to create a business account here at BOx to manage some files with a client. I created the account, a folder, etc, but I can’t assign to him a seat as que already has an account here at box. How should I proceed? Does he has to delete his account in order to be a part of the business account I created?
We have multiple companies we support and each one has its own root directory folder. Inside each of these company folders we have similar folders such as Legal, HR, Engineering, etc. And then we have folders inside of them. When we share the engineering folder with the engineering team, they see simply Engineering as a folder as their root directory and they have access to all files below with inherited permissions. The company folder in which that engineering folder is not shown. Is there a way to sharing the parent tree folder structure back to the root folder without providing permissions to all nested folders?
Details: Windows environment. Using Box Drive and Box for Office. Issue: A few, not the majority, of my users have an issue where when they go to open a file from the Box cloud, the app is being fed the URL path to the file instead of the local relative path. We don't have anything configured in our Box system for this, and as I said it's just 1 or 2 users having the problem.Where can I look for what may be wrong? Are there any Registry keys I should be looking at? The answer is not having the user use the Sync to desktop option, because other users who are working just fine the same way are NOT using the sync to desktop option, nor is the rest of the organization. This seems to be something with just a couple or few of our users.Any guidance of what \ where to look would be appreciated.
I can't see where the comments are linked to in my Box file/document. I can see there are comments made by my collaborators- they come up on the right hand side of the screen, but cannot see where in the text they link to... When I click on the comment it doesn't go to the section of the document either. I have checked through all settings and all people who have commented are collaborators. Need help!

Hi fellow devs! I am using the file picker in my web application to send a JS object of info. based upon the file that is chosen in the widget. In the object, part of what is returned is a URL that is valid for 15 minutes. This URL allows you to view and download the file. I am trying to utilize cURL to download the file but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm wondering if I'm missing a step in the process. Here is a screenshot of the object that is returned successfully from the file picker widget: And here is my cURL attempt to download the file utilizing that same URL in the command line: Please let me know if I'm missing something in the configuration to get this working. Thank you for the help!
