Box has added the ability to revert custom watermarks back to the standard template

Launched

As part of our ongoing support for customizable watermarking, which gives organizations and users more control over the watermarks applied to their sensitive content, we have also released a new enhancement enabling users to reset their watermarks back to the base template. This enhancement will help users experiment with highly customized watermarks, without having to worry about getting back to the standard.

Charts and graphs in Box Apps (Oct. 2025)

GA

We released charts and graphs in Box Apps, designed to make data more accessible and visually engaging for our users within Box Apps. This new capability addresses the need for better data synthesis and insight within apps by introducing donut and bar charts that allow users to easily see trends, drill down into specific data segments, and gain actionable insights without leaving the app. By enhancing information density and visual appeal, this feature reduces reliance on external tools for basic analytics.

A modernized web experience to streamline your workflow (Oct 2025)

Phased GA

The Box web application is now updated with a cleaner, more intuitive interface. These updates are designed to help you work more efficiently, with improved navigation and a cleaner, more cohesive interface.

Key improvements include:

  • Collapsible left navigation: maximize your workspace by collapsing the sidebar when needed
  • Organized features: Canvas, Integrations, Synced, and Trash are relocated under the “More” menu)
  • Faster access to your files: Hover over “Files” (formerly All Files) to preview contents. The Recents tab is gone from the sidebar, but you can still access it via “Recent Files” in the popover.
  • Redesigned Recents Carousel: the Recents carousel in “Files” now shows parent folders under each file for added context, plus a “See All” button for quick access to the full Recents page.

Threaded replies and @mentions in annotations

Coming soon

Box is updating the annotations functionality in Box Notes, which will make it easier for user to collaborate and share feedback. You can now reply directly to an annotation as a threaded reply, and @mention collaborators in an annotation so feedback stays connected to the exact spot and people get notified when their input is needed.
