Welcome to the Box Developer Community! I’m Scott Hurrey, head of developer relations here at Box. I just passed my 1 year mark. I spent the previous 12 years or so doing developer relations in higher ed. Before that I was a C and VB developer for another 12 years. I have written code in many languages, but Python is my favorite. I love not having to worry about misaligned {} and forgotten or misplaced semi-colons so very much. Not to mention all of the myriad libraries that already do everything I want them to. I’m a veteran of the USMC, a snare drummer in a bag pipe band, and love riding motorcycles. I have a 21 year old son and a 15 year old daughter. I look forward to getting to know of all of you!

Hey everyone - happy to be a part of the Box Dev community! I’m Tony Melrose - I’ve been at Box for the last 8 years working with our developers, and before that I was building on and administering Box at a customer! I’m excited to connect with y’all. These days I prefer to build in python (generally using Flask), but have built all sorts of projects in all sorts of languages over the last 15 or so years. Looking forward to meeting folks!

I’ve been at Box for just over 4 years now focused and specializing on Box’s APIs, key integrations, and some focus areas like Box Sign. I typically jump between Python and NodeJS on development but always open to working on whatever’s new or brushing up on other languages. Hello! My name is Sally and I’m the Platform Product Marketing Manager. 🙂 I joined Box a little less than a year ago and I’m super excited for this new dev community site 🥳. See y’all around the forums!

I work with the Box Partners team and help our Systems Integrator partners build solutions on Box and other technologies. You might also recognize me from the Box for Salesforce Community roundtable events that I present at on a monthly basis! I’ve been a Boxer for almost 7yrs and have specialized in Content Management (FileNet, OnBase, Alfresco) as a Dev/Admin/Architect for the past 15+ years. Back in the old days we had to walk 2 miles each way to check-in and check-out a document 👴. I only recently started developing on the force.com platform for the past 5-ish years. Salesforce is weird and complex and keeps me interested. I’m an awful frontend developer, but I can get by. My primary programming languages are Java and Node, but I like to dabble in C#, Python, and Go. Hi all! I joined Box in 2017 as a software engineer and over time I transitioned into management. I’ve been in the Platform space since 2019, when I joined the SDK team! In 2022 I became the manager of the Developer Platform team, a mix of frontend, backend and full stack engineers! We work on a lot of different parts of Box: The Box Public API, Developer Console, Authentication Methods, Reporting / Metrics for Box Apps / APIs, Sandboxes, Webhooks, Box UI Elements, Box Skills and more. I’m really excited about our roadmap this year and look forward to hearing the feedback from the community!

I work for a small leading liberal arts college in Virginia. We have been a Box customer for almost a decade now…and Box is our primary storage solution. So far most of our development has been for Box administration, using PowerShell and the Box CLI. We are starting to reach out across the University to see where we can assist in adding Box components to unique projects. When I am not working, you will find me paddling, mountain biking, or touring the country on my road bike.

Good day! I’m Mark with the University of Illinois where I run the Canvas service for our campus. Before that I ran our Blackboard Learn service and was a Blackboard MVP. The U of I has been using Box storage for quite a few years as our enterprise storage solution. I’ve heard that we have over 6PB in Box, so I’m glad to see all the technicians and engineers here that keep the boilers stoked for us! I enjoy developing solutions to link together disparate systems, so if anyone needs input from a member of higher education for any reason, please reach out!

Hi, I’m Peter Christensen, Platform Solutions Engineer. For the past five years I have been helping customers get the most out of Box API and integrations.
