Occasional appearance of folder $nslotmp$

I am a Box Admin for my small company. Occasionally, my Box Web users report seeing a folder named $nslotmp$ appear in their All Files. I am assuming this is a harmless temp folder that seems to appear/disappear on its own.

Does anyone know what causes this folder to appear? My users, and myself, are curious.
