Hi there,

I know there are similar or same post, but quite old and also advices in them don't work for me. In one of the replies someone suggested to submit a new ticket  on this page so the team can further investigate.

Well, I realise, my Box is not probably running, as it was not invoked by its KB shortcut nor there was no icon in the Menu bar.

Launching the Box Drive manually popped up a message there is an update, but it failed to update automatically. I tried to close it and invoke it several times with the same output. So I have decided to download the new installer from the Box.com site. After downloading pkg installer, I ran it to install the assumed latest version.

However after the launched, it started to complain about I installed older version over the newer one.

I am on macOS Big Sur ver 11.7.8(20G1351), Intel.

Many thanks for your help,

-d

Had this issue with a returned mac from a departing employee.  Had to go into the hidden Library directory and delete all Box references in there.  Then it worked fine.

Hi Daniel,

Welcome to Box Community and I'm here to assist!

Please clean uninstall your Box Drive application and you can reinstall it afterwards.

Hope it works!

Thank you Rona,

Completed re-installation worked. The key factor was delete (move to backup) the local version of Box file in `~/Library/...Box...` folder.

After installation it started work again, but was complaining it can't update for a while. Then it somehow either updated itself successfully or just gave up to update.

Cheers,

Are there other hidden places they don't tell you about in the clean uninstall? I did all the regit stuff and hidden folders I can find and it is still giving me problems
