Won't open a Word document

Occasionally, Box won't open an Excel or Word document so I have to use the online version which is very annoying.  Usually if I close and reopen my browser, it works.  Sometimes I have to reboot the entire computer which is equally annoying.  I read online to uninstall and reinstall Box Tools which I did and it just happened again.  No error message just nothing happens other than the pop up that saying it's opening Word which it is not.
