Hello,

We have one user on Windows 11 who is no longer able to save, delete, or rename any files. This just started happening over the last 2 days.

Box Tools is installed. Box app is up to date. We tried uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling with the same results.

They are able to work with all of these files on box.com but no longer on Windows. The error when attempting to save, delete, or rename a file only says "invalid device"

Someone else reported similar behavior in another post just yesterday.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Updating here that we went through another uninstall of Box and I deleted ProgramData folder and Registry entries as suggested here. Same problem persists.

Shawn, do you use Huntress? We have had a similar issue and it seems to be some sort of conflict with Huntres Rio v 0.5.11. v 0.5.7 does not have the issue.

Fantastic suggestion, they are indeed on 0.5.11 of Huntress. Just started looking but do you happen to have a rollback solution for 0.5.7?

We have a 3rd party MSP that "runs" that but I was able to simply uninstall Huntres Rio (then the automated system automatically replaced it with 0.5.7 after a short period of time) and it resolved the issue. I'm still having it looked into to see what the exact issue is / was and only 5 of our 120 users were showing 0.5.11 (and these were the five that had the issues), everyone else stayed on 0.5.7. That's the best I can offer.

I have 2 users currently experiencing this issue as well, windows 11 & 10. We also have a 3rd party MSP that runs Huntress on our machines. I just checked both users Huntress installs and they both have Rio 0.5.11. Not sure why they were updated, all other users are currently on 5.7. Thanks for this info, super helpful!!

Confirming this is the same on my end as well. Affected user is on Rio 5.11, everyone else is on 5.7. Very interesting. Thank you!
