What is the external collaborator limit for Box Business Starter?

Based on the information in the documentation, I understand that:

So, is it correct to say that the Starter plan is effectively limited by the number of purchased seats (e.g., 10 total users including both internal and external)?

If this understanding is incorrect, could you please clarify what the actual limit is?

Welcome to Box Community, and we’re glad to assist! 

  • For Starter or Business accounts, both managed users and External collaborators would require a license to maintain the two-way relationship. 
  • For the Business Plus plan and above, you may have unlimited external collaborators at no additional cost; however, your number of managed users cannot exceed your available seat count. For example, if your account has 10 licenses, you may have up to 10 managed users.

    Since the Business Starter account doesn’t have unlimited collaboration feature. There is an actual practical limit for Starter accounts, because external collaborators consume seats.

    Are you someone who works on highly collaborative folders? If yes, you might want to skip this plan and consider other alternatives.

      Just to make sure I fully understand — could you please let me know the specific number of users allowed?

      For example, if we purchase 10 seats, what is the maximum number of users (including both internal users and external collaborators) we can have?

        This is a bit confusing. I’m considering upgrading to Business Starter, but the free plan allows unlimited external collaborators. Why doesn’t the paid version?
