In the subscription plan, it mentions limit of 50,000 API calls per month. I'm using rclone to do my uploads, do uploads count as API calls? And if so, how do they get counted? Authentication (1) then copy (2) then verify?
I searched the forum for answers but they're all either unanswered or vague replies not addressing the upload matter directly.
Any API calls count towards that 50K limit, with exception of calls made from applications installed from the App Center.
Yes - if you request a token - copy and file - make another call to verify, that is three calls.

Alex, are you stating that if we leveraged Zapier (for example) all of the API calls flowing through Zapier would not count against our API call limit?
