Regarding permissions for the "Viewer Uploader" role:
I recently uploaded a file to a shared folder (owned and managed by an external organization) and realized I made an error and selected the wrong file. However, I am unable to delete or remove the file, even though I was the uploader. This restriction seems to conflict with Box's Terms of Service, which state that users maintain ownership and responsibility for their content.
Luckily, the file I uploaded in error did not contain sensitive information. However, the fact that I have no recourse other than the cooperation of the folder owner seems super shady. I know it's something that folder owners can turn on, but that doesn't go far enough. There is absolutely no indication that people in the viewer uploader role will not be able to delete files after they upload them (at minimum a banner when you are dragging files in that says "are you sure? you won't be able to delete!")
I understand the importance of maintaining shared folder integrity, but I think its common sense that uploaders should retain control over their own content, especially for cases of accidental uploads. There either needs to be a warning, or this needs to not be a thing.
Is there a reason this is set up otherwise?
