I have a custom .otf font file and would like to use it in the MS Office docs that I use inside Box. Does anyone know if this is possible? If I can’t do it in the web version, can I do it in MS Office for Desktop? Instructions please??
Hi
Welcome to Box Community, and we’re glad to assist!
Office Online (the web/Office for the web editors) does not support uploading/using custom fonts from a user’s Box account. So you cannot reliably use a custom .otf font inside Word/Excel/PowerPoint when editing in the browser.
Meanwhile, you can use a custom .otf font in the desktop Microsoft Office apps (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) — but only if the font is installed on the computer that’s running the desktop Office app. When the file is edited and saved back to Box from the desktop app, the font remains in the document; collaborators who open the file in an environment that does not have that font installed will see substitutions.
Hope it helps, and please let us know if you have questions.
