Why can't I upload files anymore, when I used to be able to? I can't drag and drop files from my desktop and my New button is faded out and says I don't have permission to upload or create new files.

May I know what is your permission in a folder you are trying to upload to?
If your permission if a Viewer or Previewer then this is expected behavior as these two permissions does not have "Upload" capabilities.
You must have the correct permission to be able to perform actions such as uploads in a collaborative folder. To see these permissions, please take a look at this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044196413-Understanding-Collaborator-Permission-Levels
