I have been trying to upload videos in box but every time it uploads, the quality diminishes and the videos gets blurry. Is there anything you can do on your end to maintain the original quality of the uploaded video?

Hi @dbbbfg

Welcome to Box Community and we’re glad to assist!

Box stores the original video files as uploaded, and any blurriness is likely related to preview rendering or playback settings rather than permanent degradation of the uploaded file so when you preview a video, you can use the settings gear to adjust the resolution.

Also, you can try downloading the uploaded video from Box to verify if the original quality is preserved.

To verify if your uploaded video retains its original quality in Box, follow these steps:

  1. After uploading the video to Box, locate the file in your Box account.
  2. Download the video file directly from Box to your local device.
  3. Play the downloaded video using a media player on your device and compare it with the original video you uploaded.

If the downloaded video matches the original in quality, then Box has preserved the file without degradation. Any blurriness during preview is likely due to streaming or rendering limitations within Box’s web or mobile interface.

For tips on uploading large videos while maintaining quality:

  • Upload the original, uncompressed video file rather than a compressed version.
  • Use a stable, high-speed internet connection to avoid upload interruptions.
  • If available, use Box Drive desktop applications for more reliable uploads of large files.
  • Avoid re-uploading multiple times; ensure the file is final before upload.

Hope it helps!
