Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of implementing the Box upload file API. I have a file which is stored in GCS that i'd like to upload to Box, the URL returned from GCS is signed. Instead of saving the file locally from GCS and then passing it to the Box API is it possible to bypass this flow and use the signed URL directly?

This topic was brought up 4 years ago (https://community.box.com/t5/Platform-and-Development-Forum/content-api-Upload-a-File-using-file-s-URL/td-p/18085#:~:text=Unfortunately%2C%20it%20is%20not%20currently,your%20local%20machine%20or%20server.). Starting a new thread as the reply in 2018 was never responded to.

Cheers

Hi , the Box API does not currently support upload by URL. You would indeed need to stream the content via an intermediary server.

Regarding Betaio's comment, does this apply to uploading a link (such as to a YouTube video) to Box?

We have several videos about our training programs that are on YouTube that we want to share with applicants via Box.

It seems silly to have to embed a link into a doc or slide just so there's a link that can be clicked on...

Thank you,

Sue
