updating box password with google account associated

Hi! So I am trying to get access to some files that a collogue shared with me. When I click accept invite, it tells me I need to update my password on box to make it stronger. Whenever input my old password it says that it's incorrect, but I can use that same password to log into my actual email just fine. I am not sure what to do, and I need access to these files being shared.
