Bonjour, suite à des problèmes avec box drive, je l’ai désinstallé et puis installé. Voici la fenêtre qui s’affiche à l’ouverture :

Pouvez vous m’aider svp?

👋 Hi @Fangas14111981lolo, welcome to the Box Community! We’re only provide support in English for the time being. Thanks for your patience while we help resolving this issue you’re having.

From the error, it appears that Python 3.10 may be installed and Box Drive is looking for a more current version. To help isolate and troubleshoot this issue, please follow the steps and guidance outlined below:

  • If you have Python installed on your device, please update it to the latest version and let us know if the error persists. If Python is not installed, the issue may be caused by residual files left on the disk during an auto-update when we transitioned to the current version of Box Drive.

  • Based on a related error, we recommend uninstalling Box Drive again, this time with the following additional steps:

📝 In some cases, the Windows Installer fails to completely remove the C:\Program Files\Box\Box folder. This folder should be removed during the initial uninstall via the Control Panel.

If you would, please uninstall Box Drive via Control Panel then check to make sure the following locations/traces are gone from your machine:
  1. Go to C:\ProgramData\Box and delete the Box subfolder.
  2. Open Registry Editor and delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Box\Box.
  3. Go to C:\Users\USER]\AppData\Local\Box and delete the Box subfolder.
  4. Open Registry Editor and delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Box\Box.
  5. Go to C:\Program Files\Box and delete the Box subfolder.
  6. If the machine has multiple user accounts, login using each user account and repeat steps 3 and 4.

Once that has been completed, please redownload and reinstall the most current version of Box Drive. Check out Installing and Updating Box Drive to learn more.

Let us know whether or not the Python error persists when you launch Box Drive. 😊

Thank you!!

I just had to delete the remaining box folder: C:\Program Files\Box, and it worked. Thank you so much!

I was not able to open my Box files, instead getting error messages. So I uninstalled and reinstalled but the same issue. I tried the method mentioned by others (removing the file and regedit, as well as enabling the .NET framework. None seem to work. Still the same error message. Please help!!!

Exit Box Drive (if it is running). If necessary, use Task Manager to end the Box.exe process.
Ascertain whether any files exist in C:\users\CUSERNAME]\AppData\Local\Box\Box\unsyncedFiles. These are files that have not been uploaded to Box. If these files do exist, and if you want to keep them, copy them to any location outside of C:\users\CUSERNAME]\AppData\Local\Box\Box\ (such as your desktop). Proceeding with the steps below deletes these files.
You may need to show hidden folders to see \AppData.
Delete this folder: C:\users\CUSERNAME]\AppData\Local\Box\Box.
From RegEdit, delete the registry entries under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Box/Box to clear Box preferences.
Restart the Box Drive and follow the prompt to log back in.”

👋 Hi @erin Lee, welcome to the Box Community! I’ve moved your post to this related topic.

Can you please follow the steps and guidance outlined above? There’s an additional step where C:\Program Files\Box\Box folder (step 5) should be removed during the initial uninstall via the Control Panel.

I am looking forward to having this taken care of. 😊
