Unable to give Box folder access to colleague

Hi Team,

I am unable to give access to Box folder to my colleague. Please help me to solve this issue. When he clicks on “Accept Invite” link, he gets error message as “Unauthorized access”.

Can you please try checking the following:

  • Make sure you invited the same email address your colleague uses for their Box account.
  • A common cause of unauthorized access is being logged into a different Box account, such as a personal account instead of the invited one.
  • Ask your colleague to sign in to Box, go to the Files page, look for the pending invitation under Action Required, and accept it there.
  • If the invite is stuck or was accepted incorrectly, remove the collaborator and resend the invite to their primary Box email.
  • If your company limits external collaboration, allowlisted domains, or who can invite collaborators, the invite may be blocked by admin settings. In that case, your Box admin may need to review the collaboration policy.
