Why I am unable to download a pdf?  I can upload the file.  I can download other files without issue.

As we proceed, please allow us to ask a few questions first, 

  • Is this a recurring issue in all PDF files in your Box account, both owned and collaborated? 
  • Did you encounter an error when you tried to download your PDF file(s)?
  • Are you downloading individual or multiple PDF files? 
  • Has it ever worked before? 

In order to help me rule out a browser-related issue, do you mind confirming the following?

  • What browser are you currently using?
    • Please note: Box’s supported browsers and versions can be found in this article.
  • Is this behavior consistent on all browsers and networks?

As we proceed, please allow us to ask a few questions first, 

  • Is this a recurring issue in all PDF files in your Box account, both owned and collaborated? This issues has affected files that we have uploaded, however we have not had any files uploaded from persons outside of the company.
  • Did you encounter an error when you tried to download your PDF file(s)? We did not receive an error message when selecting to download the file.  The file would not preview.
  • Are you downloading individual or multiple PDF files? We only try downloading individual files.
  • Has it ever worked before? Not that I am aware of.

In order to help me rule out a browser-related issue, do you mind confirming the following?

  • What browser are you currently using? Google Chrome
  • Is this behavior consistent on all browsers and networks? I tried it on different systems and different browsers, with the same results.
