Unable to add new email address

I’m trying to add a new email address and set it as the new default, but I’m unable to add any new email addresses. I keep getting “There was an error while trying to add ___ to your account.” (I removed my email address from the message.)

I was actually able to resolve the issue! I had downloaded Box and deleted on my laptop, and I think that somehow deleted my folders.

I am having this same issue, but I don’t understand how/how op’s solution works. Mine is saying “Oops — that person already has a Box account” even though I deleted the account associated with that email.

Hi ​@Sirholmes63, thank you for joining the discussion, 

Deleting the user’s account doesn’t release your email address’s association to the Box account. You need to log in to the account, replace the primary email in Account Settings then remove. 

 

If you need help reinstating your deleted Box account, please contact support and create a new case.
