Unable to add another email address to my Box account

I am trying to link a personal email address to my Box account.

First, I tried to add an email address that is not registered with any Box account. However, the verification email I received was broken and the HTML was not displayed properly, so I could not click the verification button or complete the verification process.

I then removed that email address and tried to add a different one, but I received an error while adding it to my Box account.

I have already tried the following:

  • using an email address that is not registered with any Box account
  • clearing browser cache
  • using incognito/private mode
  • trying a different email address

The issue still persists.

Could you please check whether there is any delay before a removed email address is fully released, or whether my account is in an inconsistent state?
Please also let me know how I can successfully complete the email linking process.

Welcome to Box Community and glad to assist! 

How to complete the email-linking process

  • In Account Settings, add the address as a linked/secondary email.
  • For paid accounts, the option is Link Email.
  • For free accounts, the option is Link Personal Email.
  • Box then sends a verification email, and the address is not fully added until that verification is completed.
  • A secondary email must be verified before it can be made primary.

 

Please note that if the email address is already associated with another Box account, that can prevent it from being added.
