This shared file or folder link has been removed or is unavailable to you

I understand this can happen due to permissions, link removal, or account access issues. However, in my case, I only have the shared link and do not know who owns the file or folder, so I'm unable to contact the owner directly.

Is there any way to identify the owner or determine who shared the link? Are there any troubleshooting steps I can take to verify whether the issue is with permissions, a removed link, or my account access?

Welcome to Box Community, and we’re glad to further assist! 

 

If the file or folder is owned internally, you could reach out to your Box Admin and run the Shared Links report to determine the owner. 

That way, you and your Box Admin can identify if the file or folder can still be shared.

 

To run the report: 

  1. For your Box Admin, login to Box.com and navigate to Admin Console > Reports.
  2. Click the Create Report tab.
  3. Select Shared Links.
  4. Configure your filters and data columns, then click Run (or export).
  5. The generated .csv file will be uploaded to your Box Reports folder.
