I probably have a question that is simple to answer....but here is the chat with support.  They just disappeared in the middle of the convo

  • How do I share a link with someone so they can open it without signing in to Box

  • I created a shared link from my account. When the recipient tried to open it they had to sign in to Box. I want them to have the ability to just open and hear the music

  • I would make sure you are creating a shared link and not just "sharing" a file or folder. If you click 'share' to add someone as a collaborator, they will have to create an account. However, they do not need an account for access via a shared link.

  • I just sent. shared link and the system requested them to sign in

  • Is it a preference that is selected in my account that is causing the issue?

  • If you are sharing internally to your organization (someone with the same email domain) that would require them to sign in

  • It was not anyone in my internal organization

  • I just want to be able to share links to my music files with other professionals
    Sent by: You2:26 PM
  • They do not want to sign in...so they are not listening to the music in the links I send

  • are you there?

Hi There,

Welcome to the Box Community!

I'm sorry for the confusion. Let me help.

When you created the shared link. Did you set this to "People In Your Company" thus might be the reason why the receiver is being prompted to sign in to Box?

I'd say that you check the helpful information provided in this article.

Best,
