Our implementation of box.com has primary users all within our company domain. Can a configuration, or setting, be made that would prevent a collaborator from outside our domain from assigning someone a task that is part of our domain? For us, it is not desirable to have someone outside our company assigning tasks to those of us inside the company. We would like to just have tasks reserved for those of us within our own domain.

Tasks, can they be restricted? Can users outside of our domain be prevented from assigning tasks to those inside our domain?

A user's ability to create or assign a task is actually defined by his collaborator permission level to the shared Folder and I don't think there is an option to disable this function at present.
If this is something you would like to be able to do, I would highly recommend submitting this feature request at pulse.box.com! Our product managers review these requests and take them into consideration for future product development.
