Symbols appearing in Box desktop filepath

There are certain files saved on Box that I can only access through the web. The desktop versions of the files have the following file path that likely is preventing my access:

\\?\C:\Users\[my username]...

I would appreciate any advice on how to troubleshoot. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Box Drive and Box Tools, and confirmed that both are running on my dekstop.
