sporadic but annoying problem whereby comments look normal in the Box preview but miss chunks of text when I open with Box/download outright

As the title indicates, when working with a Word document in Box, I occasionally find that comments will appear normally in the Box preview but miss chunks of text when I open with Box/download the document outright. Longer comments seem more susceptible. I had only seen it at the end of comments until now, but apparently, it can cut off words in the middle of a comment.

Is this an issue with how I am working with the document? Uploading? Is it an issue with word-box communications? 

How can I resolve this or prevent it from happening?
