Hello,

It seems our download speeds are getting throttled to 1MB/s. Is there any way to increase this? We have a symmetrical 1G connection and have tried downloading from different devices and networks and seem to still get capped at 1MB/s.

If you are encountering problems downloading files from your Box account, we recommend you try


  • Updating your browser to the latest version

  • Clearing your browser's cache

  • Using Box with an alternate browser, computer or network

  • Temporarily disabling any internet security/firewall programs to test whether they conflict with Box (note: you may need clearance/assistance from your organization’s IT department/helpdesk to do this)

  • Disabling any plugins on your browser

We've tried the above and are still only getting 1MB/s on downloads. Is there anything else that can be done?

This is definitely a box.com issue. The download speeds are horrendous across browsers and devices. I have symmetrical 10G and the uploads are fast but takes me 5 minutes to download a 1GB file. 


box its amazing you checked this ANSWERED. box at most uses 1% of my internet speed. dropbox and google drive don't have these problems.


This is unacceptable.
