Shortcuts on Box

Is there any way to create folder shortcuts in Box that are useable for multiple users and across platforms (both on the browser-based Box app and desktop-based Box app)?

I found this previously posted issue, but the response from the Box representative is not helpful or satisfying: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360052422873-how-to-create-a-Shortcut-that-is-retained-in-Box-Drive-app-on-Windows-10

I know that you can add "Bookmarks" to link to other folders in the browser app, but those links aren't accessible in the desktop app. And if I add a shortcut within the desktop app, it's not accessible in the browser app, nor by other users of our organization's Box drive.

Is shortcut functionality being developed by Box? Shortcuts are are standard feature in file storage, and it's surprising that this functionality doesn't appear to exist within Box.

    Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!

    Upon checking, it looks like 'Shortcuts' created via Windows Explorer or Finder is one of those items that is ignored and will not be synced by Box Sync or Box Drive programs. Ignored files include invisible in Windows Explorer or Finder, such as temporary or system files. Blocked files include file types that Box Sync or Box Drive does not recognize.

    Hi. I also need a 'shortcuts' feature. What's described in the initial suggestion/request already exists in other apps like Google Drive. We use it all the time-- many many use cases.

    I've checked in Pulse- our Product feedback page and there is an existing feature request to support syncing Shortcuts for Box Drive, however, this is currently not on the road-map.     Our product teams review and respond to ideas there so I would definitely encourage you to add your vote and your voice – we aren't able to implement every idea, but the more details we know there about the use case and the impact, the better we are able to prioritize it.
