I see other people have requested this. I would also like to request this. We were using dropbox, and we were able to create shortcuts within dropbox that allowed us to navigate to other areas of the folder structure while using the web browser view.
An example use case:
We would like to have a folder called "Getting Started". This would *only* contain *links* to common frequently used files that are spread out through the folder system. It does not make sense to sense to keep disparate files for different projects, clients, properties, tasks in a single folder just so they can be easily accessed. This helps acquaint new users with certain files.
I have seen the suggestion to "organize content in Box in a way that makes sense for users to utilize the content,". ...well, this is the way that makes sense.
We have a folder system that has evolved over many *years*. And due to acquisitions and personal preferences, different parts of the company, and different properties, use different file structures. So it is not always clear where a certain type of file might live. Then add on the fact that our admins will touch way more file trees than the users who create the file trees, and the admins may not know each file trees as well as the everyday managers and execs who create and maintain them.
Box bookmarks dont work because they are local to me. Collections dont work because they are local to me. I tried using a .url or .lnk file, but those dont work.
Why not make collections or bookmarks shareable somehow?
It is disappointing that this feature does not exist for the web view.
