Hi @bassom

Welcome to Box Community, and we’re glad to assist restore your version history.

Your ability to restore your file’s version history varies according to your Box plan:

The number of file versions that Box saves and that you can access corresponds to your Box account type:

  • Personal Free - 1 Version
  • Personal Pro - 10 Versions
  • Starter - 25 Versions
  • Business/Business Plus - 50 Versions
  • Enterprise - 100 Versions
  • Enterprise Plus/Enterprise Advanced: Unlimited

If you’re trying to restore your own file’s version history I’m afraid, you can only have (1) version of the file. For more details, please see this article.

Hope it helps! Please let us know if you have questions.

I have Personal Pro, I am unable to view the previous file version. It shows Server Error

File versions could not be retrieved. error. I kindly request you at the earliest. I have accidentally uploaded a new file and can not get the older-correct version of it.

Hi @dhanashree, welcome to Box Community! Thank you for joining our discussion regarding version history.

I have a few questions for you regarding the file (version) you’re trying to restore:

  • Are you the file owner? If not, do you know if the owner is Personal Pro user or higher?
  • If this is your owned file then use different browsers, network and connection and try to restore your file’s old version.
  • If the issue persist, do you mind sending a screenshot of your error in this thread?

We look forward to your reply and in assisting you!
