Hi,

I have some users who are using Box to archive surgical images (tens of thousands and growing) for research studies.  As such, they need a good way to search for these images and given the number they are working with applying metadata templates to each file is not feasible.  The DICOM files that they are importing are carrying over the metadata attributes that they are tagged with from the modalities, which is great as the images already come with the information that they are looking for.

That being said, is there a way to perform a search in Box leveraging the DICOM metadata?

Thank you

Hello Matt,

This should be possible!

Are you hoping to preform this search within the Box webapp for this or via the API?

OK great!  Right now, we're just looking to do this through the Box webapp.  It would be useful to have some information on API options as well if available, but I don't know that we'll have any teams using it for that purpose anytime soon.

Thank you,

Matt
