I am an editor in shared box files and my search is not working for some files. I have scrolled and found the file I'm looking for since I knew what folder it was in but even though I typed the file name exact, it does not appear in search.

May I know how are you searching the items in Box? Are you using the Box Webapp (web version) or are you searching using the Box Desktop app such as Box Drive?

Box has a secure index for content much like the index in the back of a textbook. Every time a file or folder is changed, we add those words to the index in a process called indexing. When you conduct a search, we look in the search index for files and folders that match your query. When content is added, updated, or deleted in Box, we will update the search index accordingly.
- Search Availability: It can take time between uploading or modifying a file for it to be fully indexed and ready to be searched. In most cases, you can expect newly added or changed files to be available via Box search in 10 minutes. The current service load determines the index time and it may take more than 10 minutes in some cases.

Hi. I am using the website on my computer and the app on my iphone. We save files with a customer's last name comma first initial. I can locate some old customers using the search function but can't locate others. My coworker can access both. We have the same permissions so it makes no sense.
Staring at a file and typing that filename (or any word of it) into search and searching only that folder = no results. What a terrible dysfunction.
