Reported storage size does not match the actual storage size

Even if I delete unnecessary files in the folder managed by this account and there is nothing in the folder, the storage capacity of 9.3GB may be used.

Can you please take measures so that the storage capacity is displayed normally?

Or how about provide a way to get some actual support from this company at all.

IO deal with this problem constantly and haven’t received ANY HELP from BOX for YEARS despite searching and looking several times. Signing into the help page only brings loops back to box main page.

My Box storage was full so I deleted most of the items but it is still showing as full. How do I create space.

Welcome to Box Community! I moved your post to this related thread, and we’d love to assist. 

 

You may notice that your used storage didn’t change right after deleting files from your Box account. Please know that the problem is entirely with the display of these totals. This has no effect on your underlying data. All of your files remain in place and have not decreased in size or been edited by unauthorized people.

 

Meanwhile, aggregates is expected to get fixed in the next 24 hours. If there are no changes by then, please submit a case and contact support.

I deleted a lot of files in storage. However, the free space of the storage does not increase. How can I free up more space or correct the file/folder storage count?

My account cannot be completely emptied on Box. After cleaning all files and the Recycle Bin, 401.9 MB still remains. Please help me.

Would someone authorized please run the script to correct the discrepancy in storage used for my account?

 

I am using around 5GB but its telling me I am at 10GB.

The storage usage shown on my account is incorrect, can you please execute the script which resolves the underlying issue?

This has happened before - my storage is nearly full, but isn’t! I can’t see how to contact customer support directly, so I’m hoping they’ll see it here!

Hi there! 

 

Seeing lots of posts about a script needing to be run to update storage after deleting items. 

 

How do I get my storage to clear immediately after deleting items? What else can I do aside from reaching out here to ask someone to run a script?

Can you please look into my account and run the script mentioned in many of these posts?  It says my account is out of storage however I have deleted many items and emptied the trash.

I cannot place a support ticket

I've deleted lots of files but my storage available stays the same. I see this is a common problem from other posts. How can I fix this so it doesn't continue?

I think my storage needs to be reset. I deleted files but still show 87GB out of 100GB used . Other times this has happened, support had to run a script to correct problem.

I exceeded the free storage limit of 10GB, so I deleted a bunch of big files to free up space (including emptying the trash), but my storage still says 10GB used. Can you fix/sync this for me please?


IT says I have occupied 10.2 GB out of 10 GB. I deleted quite a lot of files, and still no change. This has happened again several years ago and you fixed the problem. Please, fix it now because this stops my work.


Could you please correct my storage space? I've deleted a bunch of files, but my space is not freeing up like it should

Title says it all.

Also my counter says 1.2 Gig but I cannot upload a 700Meg file.

This has happened in the past and someone (kindly) reset my counter.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the storage usage and file count inaccuracies. These display issues are common and do not affect your actual data. The system usually updates aggregates within an hour, but complex folder structures may take up to 24 hours or even a few days to correct. Trash is excluded from storage calculations, and shared folders count only toward the owner's storage.

I understand that you are seeing some data inconsistencies on your account. 
 
Please note that when you delete folders, the storage space may not immediately update because Box excludes Trash from storage calculations and updates aggregates within an hour or up to 24 hours for complex cases. In rare cases, it might take a few days to a week for the storage usage to reflect correctly. Your files remain safe, and this is a display update issue. For more details, please see this article

In the effort to clear out storage, I did what I was told. YET it is not accurate. Please reset my GB script now, if you could, please. In the process of purging I deleted a file I didn’t want to--it’s in the trash, I need to restore but I can’t now. This is, well, bad. 

 

Please help. Send memory resets. I already tried logging out, shutting down, rebooting. Everything. Thanks!
