Hello, I have lost the google authenticator, I access my account using one of the three codes I have (I keep the password), but since I am not a premium user, the administration console does not appear so I cannot cancel the 2FA, what can I do to remove the authentication? How do I contact Box to remove it?
Hello, I have a free account but I had 2FA two-step authentication installed and I have lost the Google Authenticator, I keep the password and I only have 2 codes left, if the 2FA box is not removed, I will lose the account. Welcome to Box Community, and we’re happy to walk you through in disabling your MFA.
Since you are able to access your Box account, and freemium users like yourself could head over to your Account Settings to remove your Multi-Factor Authentication.
To remove a multi-factor authentication method from your individual account:
- Click on your account icon in the top-right corner of the page, and select Account Settings.
- Under the Account tab, scroll to the Authentication section.
- Click Remove next to the authentication method you want to remove, then click Remove in the confirmation dialog box.
