Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out for some advice on an issue I’m currently facing. I received a message saying, 'Your password has expired. Please enter your email address, and we will send instructions on how to create a new password.'

However, the email address I used to log in was my former company email, which I no longer have access to after leaving the company. Unfortunately, I didn’t update the login email before leaving, and now I’m stuck without a way to reset my password.

The account I am currently signed into is linked to an active email address that I use regularly, but I need to recover access to the account tied to my old company email.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation before? Are there any workarounds or solutions I might try?

I’d really appreciate any tips, insights, or guidance you could share—thanks so much in advance.

Hi Rie,

Welcome to Box Community and glad to assist!

You'll only get to receive your password reset link through the email address linked to your Box account. If your primary email address is no longer active and you can't log in. I'm afraid, you should consider setting up a new account instead.

Thanks for posting!

Yikes, I too am having this problem. I have a free 50GB Box account under an email address that I mistakenly deleted at Comcast (I have several addresses) because I was getting too much spam at that address, but I forgot I had that address was associated with this particular Box account. So am I absolutely out of luck and will loose all the data that I have in the Box account now associated with a dead email address? My intention was to change the email address associated with the Box account to regain access. Is there any possibility of recovering?

It's unfortunate that I can no longer access my account, as I have been a heavy user with many important files stored in Box. Before setting up a new account, I’d like to check if there is any way to recover access through identity verification, even if my registered email is no longer active. I’d appreciate any guidance anyone can provide on this.
