How do you reactivate a deactivated user?  I received the following error messages. "Sorry, you can not invite deactivated users to collaborate." and when I try to add them as a user, I receive this message : "User belongs to another enterprise."

Hi @Kevin C.

Welcome to Box Community and we’re happy to assist!

You can only collaborate with active Box users, and to reactivate this user’s Box account. We will be needing personal details coming from the affected user.

At this point, can you have the affected user to contact our Box Product Support team by submitting a case through this support link

We’d love to look further into this.

Thanks for posting!

I am trying to share a folder with another user.  The error says the person was deactivated.  How can I resolve this issue?

Hi @Deactivated user, welcome to the Box Community!

Based on the internal message we received, the user you're trying to invite to collaborate on the folder was deactivated by her admin. To help resolve this issue, here are a few options:

  • To proceed with collaboration, she can reach out to her admin and request to have her account reactivated.

  • If she only needs view or download access (and doesn’t need to edit, upload, or make changes), you can use the shared links feature.

    • For shared link access, select “People with the link”—anyone with the link can access the item and no Box account is required.

  • Alternatively, you can send the invite to a different email. If she still needs to collaborate but doesn’t have an active Box account tied to that email yet, she can sign up for a Free Individual account.

Please let us know if you have any other questions—we’re here to help! 🤗
